Absolutely not required. After you have prepared all the documents required, pass them to your appointed MM2H agent like WANDA, who is licensed by the Malaysia Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, to submit your application to MOTAC on your behalf.

Note: NEVER pass any important personal data and documents to any unlicensed or unauthorized “middleman” or “runner” who claims to represent or be a licensed MM2H agent. ALWAYS request to view the appointment letter or MM2H license to validate their identity of representation.

Submission

<Insert MM2H application checklist diagram>

APPLICATION THROUGH LICENSED AGENTS ONLY: Applications should be submitted and completed through a licensed MM2H agency that has been approved by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture (MOTAC) under the Tourism Industry Act 1992 [Act 482].

WANDA has been a licensed MM2H agency (License No. MM2H855) since 28 Sep 2024, when new licensing re-opened in July 2024 for all MM2H agencies operating in Malaysia.

Note: New MM2H policy (2024) disallows applicants from submitting their own application (“DIY”) at the MOTAC OSC counter or online.

Submission of your application via Online & Over-The-Counter

All physical documents prepared must be scanned into digital PDF format and uploaded online into the MM2H System (Portal) only by your appointed agent with privileged access. The physical (original) document sets must be submitted at the MM2H OSC counter within 3 working days after the online upload.

How do I know if my application has been successfully uploaded into the online system?

An Acknowledge Slip will be issued in the System upon successful upload of all the necessary documents. An invoice will also be generated for paying the Platform Fee (amount of RM540, including SST). Your appointed agent can download the Acknowledge Slip and Invoice for your record.

How do I know if my application has been accepted for processing?

Once the digital and physical copies of documents have been received by MM2H OSC for backend processing, the officer assigned to your case will conduct a preliminary document check for completeness according to the stringent checklist requirement. Once you have passed this stage, an official Receipt of Acknowledgement (“AP” or Akuan Penerimaan) with your pre-assigned MM2H Visa Reference Number will be generated for your agent to download.

What do I do next after my application is accepted for processing?

After you have received your AP, please wait patiently for the approval processing workflow to take place across the different government agencies/departments. We shall follow up on your application and update you on the progress from time to time.

Approval

How long does it take to get the MM2H approval?

Typically, the approval process takes about 3 months (plus or minus; for some complicated or incomplete document cases, it may take up to 6 months). Upon a successful application, you will receive an Approval Letter (“SKB” or Surat Kelulusan Bersyarat).

Why does it take so long to get my MM2H approval?

The application processing involves multiple government departments under different Ministries for both the applicant's personal and financial background check, immigration entry record check, and security clearance (criminal record) check. This is to ensure correctness of personal data, financial assessment, and compliance with Immigration and national security requirements before the application is submitted to a cross-ministries Committee for the final evaluation and approval.

Approval workflow

  1. Document Checking & Validation by MOTAC officer at OSC
  2. Immigration Blacklisting Record Checking by Immigration officer at OSC
  3. Security Clearance (criminal record, AML record) by Malaysia Police (PDRM) at Bukit Aman
  4. Committee Level Assessment & Approval at MJKP (Mesyuarat Jawatan Kuasa Peraku)
  5. Preparation of Conditional Approval Letter (SKB) by MOTAC officer at OSC

Will I be informed by the Malaysia Government about my MM2H approval?

You will be informed directly by your appointed MM2H agent about your approval status, and your agent can download a digital copy of the Approval Letter (SKB) from the MM2H online system on your behalf. You shall receive your Approval Letter from your MM2H agent.

Endorsement

You are given 90 days from the Date of Approval in your Conditional Approval Letter (SKB) to make a trip to Malaysia, if you are overseas.

Before your arrival to Malaysia

Important: If the applicants are overseas, they must plan for a trip (recommended at least a full week) to visit Malaysia to perform the pre-endorsement tasks and endorsement of their MM2H Visa/Pass. If possible, arrange for all successful dependents for endorsement in the same trip. “FLYING PASSPORTS” are strictly prohibited.

Plan your trip to Malaysia within the 90-day period from the Date of Approval Letter. Please discuss with us your preferred endorsement dates based on your schedule, and we MUST ensure that the appointment date for the endorsement day is still available in the MM2H OSC online booking system. Book your flight tickets to Malaysia.

If this is your first time visiting Malaysia, we can assist you in arranging accommodation and transportation upon your arrival.

After your arrival to Malaysia

Our MM2H consultants shall meet you at a place of your convenience or at our office on the second day of your arrival in Malaysia to discuss and prepare you for a smooth and successful Endorsement process.

Our MM2H consultants will accompany and guide you to perform the pre-endorsement tasks and prepare all the necessary documents according to the MOTAC Endorsement Document Checklist, as shown below.

02

Perform the mandatory medical checkup in ANY government-recognized clinic, medical center or hospital in Malaysia, for principal and all dependents.

Signed and stamped MFII Form by the doctor.

03

Purchase medical/health insurance (at least 1 year) for applicants below 60 years old from any recognized insurance company in Malaysia.

In your Approval Letter (Clause 3), it states that “the Participants MUST BE PRESENT at the One Stop Centre, Malaysia My Second Home Centre (MM2H), Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, Level 1, No.2, Tower 1, Jalan P5/6, Presint 5, 62200 Putrajaya for the endorsements of the MM2H Social Visit Pass.” However, in practice, you and your dependents DO NOT need to be present at the OSC in Putrajaya. As your appointed MM2H agent, we shall collect your original passports on the EVE of the Endorsement appointment date.

How long does it take to get back your passport with the MM2H endorsement (Pass/Visa stickers) on it?

Typically, it takes ONE working day to complete the endorsement process at OSC in Putrajaya — including submission of endorsement document sets at the OSC counter, document checking and verification, making government fee payments at the portal and over the counter, and the return of the endorsed passports. Our practice is to RETURN the passports to you SAFELY on the same day (evening/night) or, at the latest, the next day.

Note: Sometimes, due to unforeseen events such as technical/system problems, long public holidays, or excessive workloads at the Immigration Unit of OSC, it may take more than one working day to complete the endorsement processing.

After your endorsement of MM2H Visa

You must complete this post-endorsement task within 12 months from your date of endorsement.

Renewal

Important: All NEW POLICY MM2H Pass holders are NOT required to renew their MM2H Pass/Visa until early 2029, when the first batch of new MM2H Passes issued in late 2024 or early 2025 come to the expiry term.

Do I have to repeat the full application and pay all the fees again to renew my MM2H Pass/Visa after its term expiry?

You DO NOT need to resubmit a NEW application with the full set of NEW application documents and pay full application fees, such as the one-time participation fee and one-time processing fee. However, you are only required to pay a Renewal Fee (see below) and renewed MM2H Pass/Visa Fees for a 5-year validity period (regardless of the maximum Visa validity of your Category).

Difference between RENEWAL and EXTENSION

You only RENEW your MM2H Pass upon the expiry of the maximum Pass/Visa validity period of the different categories. For instance, you do a RENEWAL after the maximum 5-year validity expiry of your MM2H SILVER Pass, or the 20-year validity expiry of your MM2H PLATINUM Pass.

However, if your passport validity has only 3 years left upon the endorsement date, you will only receive a 3-year MM2H Pass sticker for the Silver category. You then need to apply for an EXTENSION of your MM2H Silver Pass for another 2 years in the fourth year, which is the balance period of your maximum 5-year Visa for the Silver category.
